LOCKDOWN LIFE: RECHARGE, REBOOT. SUPPORT, INSPIRE.

Whilst acknowledging the loss and devastation that is going on around the world, at Poppy & Perle we have continued to try to fill our lives with positivity and colour and embraced the opportunity for learning, reflection and change. This is not to say that it has always been easy or that we are keen to leave the former shape of us and what we were achieving behind. We are determined to bring Poppy & Perle back, bigger and better than ever, and are sitting patiently until that day comes.

The events and entertainment industry has taken a huge blow and will take some time to recover. In particular, festivals have been such a significant part of our lives, personally and professionally, for many many years and the lack of them this summer will be profoundly felt!

Please, please, where you can, help support artists, organisations and collectives who have made live music experiences, performance and culture accessible to so many of us over the years. Purchase music online, buy merch, don't ask for ticket refunds where you can afford to do so, buy art from sellers and small businesses, listen, watch and engage with live Facebook streams and like, comment, share!

We strongly feel that collective experiences such as festivals, gigs, theatre and performance are essential to us as humans and will return as soon as it is safe to do so and WE CAN'T WAIT.

In the meantime, here are some of our favourite online resources and collaborative efforts in our lockdown world:

Social Distancing Festival - celebrating art worldwide and artists who have faced cancellations.

Shambala Speaks - wise words, revolutionary ideas and beautiful stories.

#saveourvenues - a campaign to help save grassroots music venues across the UK.

Live for Love - the amazing Hannah is running this entertainment stream campaign to raise money for a network of food banks.

And for those looking for inspiration for you or your little ones, here are some of our favourite tutorials and entertainment resources:

Weekly kitchen raves from our friends at Big Fish Little Fish

Our great pal Lucas Jet has a YouTube channel teaching circus tricks you can try at home
